NextPath Career Partners is currently seeking a Controller to join our client’s team in Tampa, FL. This is an onsite, direct hire position.
SALARY: $90-130K + bonus (depending on experience)
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or related field
- CPA certification is required
- 5+ years of experience as a Controller with full general ledger accounting and financial reporting for a multi-divisional company
- Manufacturing/Distribution experience preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures including general ledger functions, month/year-end close procedures, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Proven track record of successfully developing strong financial systems through hands-on, results-oriented leadership
- Start-up experience (i.e. business/company development ramping an organization using minimal resources, etc.)
- Previous leadership experience including management of employees
- Significant experience using an ERP system
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in the development of the company’s plans and programs as a strategic partner
- Plan, direct and evaluate the organization's fiscal responsibilities and performance
- Oversee the activities of accounts payable, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of invoices, purchase orders, employee expense reports and overall cash control
- Ensure the timely compliance of all sales tax reporting
- Oversee the activities of accounts receivable, ensuring the timely collection of payments from all customers, cash receipt/credit card payment processing, communications with customers and overall cash control
- Manage the month end close process and compile and analyze monthly consolidated financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Perform proper analytical review of the operations from a balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow perspective as well as an overall business perspective
- Leverage financial analysis and create models to help the company identify areas where profitability can be improved, and expenses reduced
- Provide status of financial condition of all Divisions by collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data and recommending plans
- Establish budgets by creating schedules, collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data
- Coordinate the annual tax return preparation; function as the primary contact for this project
- Support and work closely with operations personnel and systems
- Look beyond traditional accounting functions to increase margins (pricing, cost controls) and assist with challenging operational decisions
- Prioritize and plan work activities and develop realistic action plans
- Listen effectively, transmit information in an accurate and understandable manner, and actively seek feedback
- Demonstrate professionalism, discretion, and good judgment in all interactions with co-workers, customers, vendors, and others
