NextPath Career Partners is currently seeking a Database Administrator (DBA) to join our client’s team in Tampa, FL. This is a hybrid, direct hire position.
SALARY: $80,000 – $105,000 (depending on experience)

REQUIREMENTS:
• 3+ years of experience as a Database Administrator or Engineer
• Expert proficiency in PostgreSQL and/or MySQL management and tuning
• 2+ years of hands-on experience managing production databases on AWS (e.g., RDS)
• Strong understanding of version control systems like GitHub
• Experience optimizing database performance for high-traffic web applications
• Knowledge of relational database architecture, design, and management
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Collaborate with developers on designing and implementing efficient database schemas for PostgreSQL and MySQL
• Monitor and optimize database performance, tuning complex SQL queries for speed
• Provision, configure, and maintain AWS database services such as Amazon RDS
• Review database changes and migration scripts, ensuring best practices before deployment
• Manage AWS resources related to databases, including backups, monitoring, and security
• Troubleshoot connection issues and performance impacts in Docker container environments
• Implement and test high availability and disaster recovery solutions within AWS
• Enforce database security policies, manage user permissions, and ensure encryption
• Provide guidance on data modeling, transactions, and ORM usage to development teams
• Serve as Tier 3 escalation point for data-related incidents, diagnosing and resolving issues quickly
