NextPath Career Partners is currently seeking a Hardware IoT Engineer to join our client’s team. This is a remote, direct hire position.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience in IoT hardware design and development.
- Proficiency in hardware design tools (e.g., Altium, Eagle), simulation software, and PCB layout.
- Knowledge of microcontrollers, sensors, communication protocols (e.g., Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Cellular), and power management.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Hardware Design: Design and develop IoT hardware solutions, including embedded systems, sensors, and communication modules, to enable real-time data collection and analysis in vehicles and fleets.
- Prototyping: Create prototypes and proof-of-concept hardware to validate design concepts and feasibility. Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure hardware meets project requirements.
- Component Selection: Research, evaluate, and select components and technologies for IoT hardware projects, considering factors such as cost, performance, and reliability.
- Testing and Validation: Develop and implement testing procedures to ensure the quality and reliability of IoT hardware components and systems. Perform validation and certification testing as necessary.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with software engineers, data scientists, and other team members to integrate IoT hardware with software solutions and data analytics platforms.
- Documentation: Prepare detailed hardware design documentation, including schematics, PCB layouts, and bill of materials (BOM). Maintain accurate records of design changes and updates.
- Compliance and Regulations: Ensure IoT hardware designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and certifications required for automotive and fleet management applications.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends in IoT hardware development. Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in existing hardware designs.
