NextPath Career Partners is currently seeking a Lead Cybersecurity Web Application Firewall (WAF) Engineer to join our client’s team in Atlanta, GA, or North Hills, NY. This is a Hybrid, Direct Hire position.
SALARY: $122,000 – $204,000 + Bonus (depending on experience)

REQUIREMENTS:
• Significant hands-on experience configuring and managing Web Application Firewalls (WAF), with at least 50% of recent role dedicated to WAF tasks.
• 6+ years of related industry experience, including 4+ years in cybersecurity.
• 2+ years as the primary engineer managing enterprise WAF environments.
• Deep knowledge of Layer 7 WAF security, with experience supporting AWS, Azure, GCP, Imperva, Akamai, or F5.
• Experience with infrastructure automation tools like Terraform and proficiency in Python or similar languages.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts such as DNS, HTTP/S, and edge routing.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead and develop the enterprise WAF strategy, standards, and architecture in collaboration with security and architecture teams
• Analyze and optimize WAF rules to enhance security protections
• Implement WAF solutions for new public websites based on established architectural patterns
• Create, maintain, and improve runbooks, playbooks, and automated detection/triggers for threat response
• Monitor and report on cybersecurity trends, recommending tools and infrastructure improvements
• Participate in security incident response efforts, addressing threats like botnet traffic spikes and Layer 7 attacks
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure secure deployment and ongoing management of WAF solutions
• Research emerging security trends and recommend relevant technological updates or solutions
