NextPath Career Partners is currently seeking a Payroll Manager to join our client’s team in Orlando, FL. This is an onsite, direct hire position.

SALARY: $90-$100K (depending on experience)

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in payroll administration and management. 
  • Bachelor’s degree, CPP (Certified Payroll Professional), preferred. 
  • Strong experience with taxation process (annual filing, quarterly filing, etc)
  • Handle payroll function overall
  • 401k administration
  • Strong auditing processes knowledge
  • California payroll experience is required
  • Multi-state payroll experience is required
  • Prevailing wage experience and knowledge

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly/weekly payroll for employees in multiple states. 
  •  Ensure all payroll transactions, including salaries, prevailing wages, bonuses, commissions, deductions, and benefits, are processed accurately. 
  • Manage payroll system updates and maintenance, including implementing new technologies or upgrades as needed. 
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including tax withholding, reporting, and benefits administration. 
  • Provide detailed payroll reports and data to the Finance department for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including support for budget forecasting and financial analysis.
  • Prepare and file required payroll reports, including tax filings, wage reports, and compliance documents. 
  • Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations and adjust practices accordingly. 
  • Supervise and mentor payroll staff and provide performance feedback and training to team members to enhance their skills and efficiency. 
  • Facilitate regular and effective communication between the Payroll and Finance departments to ensure alignment of financial matters and payroll processing requirements. 
  • Work closely with the Finance team to ensure accurate and timely reconciliation of payroll-related accounts, including payroll expenses, liabilities, and tax withholdings. 
  • Serve as the point of contact for payroll-related inquiries from employees and address any issues or concerns promptly. 
  • Provide guidance on payroll policies, procedures, and tax-related questions. 
  • Assist in resolving discrepancies and processing adjustments or corrections. 
  • Evaluate and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of payroll operations. 
  • Collaborate with Finance to streamline payroll and financial processes, identifying and implementing efficiencies to enhance the accuracy and timeliness of financial data and reporting. 
  • Collaborate with IT and HR departments to integrate payroll systems with other HR and financial systems. 
  • Develop and maintain documentation for payroll procedures and controls. 
  • Prepare for and participate in internal and external audits related to payroll. 
  • Implement and monitor internal controls to prevent payroll fraud and ensure the integrity of payroll data. 
  • Manage the integration of payroll processes, systems, and data during mergers and acquisitions. 
  • Coordinate with HR and Finance teams to ensure seamless transition and compliance with all payroll-related aspects of mergers and acquisitions. 
  • Develop and execute plans for merging payroll systems, aligning payroll policies, and harmonizing employee compensation and benefits.
