NextPath Career Partners is currently seeking a Staff Accountant to join our client’s team in Houston, TX. This is an on-site, contract position.
SALARY: $25-30/hour (depending on experience)

REQUIREMENTS:
• 1+ years of experience in an accounting-related role (AP, AR, some collections, balance sheet reconciliation)
• Strong MS Excel skills (creating/updating reports, V-Lookups, pivot tables)
• Experience with financial ERP systems (Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics) — highly preferred
• Good team player with strong communication skills and willingness to learn
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field (preferred)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Process daily sales invoices and distribute related reports
• Collect overdue accounts and reconcile accounts receivable as needed
• Reconcile account balances and ensure correct payment postings
• Review, calculate, and post accounts payable accrual entries to align expenses with the correct period
• Assist in resolving accounting questions from stakeholders
• Issue credit memos and maintain related documentation
• Maintain customer files and review creditworthiness upon request
• Support month-end closing processes and answer related questions
• Conduct internal audits of transactions as required
• Monitor and control DSO and DPO levels
• Reconcile financial discrepancies by analyzing account data
• Assist with state sales tax compliance
• Support internal control and audit processes
• Perform system cost roll-ups and coordinate with other departments
• Perform additional duties as assigned
