NextPath Career Partners is currently seeking a Staff Tax Accountant to join our client’s team. This is a direct hire position. Candidate must sit in the Tampa Bay area.

SALARY: $70-75k (depending on experience)

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3+ years of experience at a major public accounting firm and/or tax department of a multinational corporation (Will consider candidates that do not come from major public accounting or multinational corporation)
  • Experience with income tax, fixed assets & depreciation systems
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and/or international corporate tax law
  • Required experience includes US tax compliance, fixed assets/depreciation concepts and strategies, electronic research, and ASC 740/FAS 109
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Teams)
  • Experience with SAGE, and CCH ProSystems is a plus
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude
  • Ability to adapt to a continually changing business and work environment with the ability to prioritize workload
  • Solid critical thinking and analysis and attention to detail
  • Strong planning and organization skills and understanding of the importance of deadlines
  • Excellent communications skills required
  • The desire to be challenged to continue to expand your tax knowledge with the ability to think outside the box within the constantly changing tax landscape

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work within a team to ensure the accurate and timely filing of all Company's U.S. tax compliance for federal, state and foreign jurisdictions reporting requirements which are consistent with management philosophy and tax law requirements
  • Preparation and documentation of supporting tax schedules and workpapers
  • Assist with federal, state, and foreign income tax audits as needed
  • Respond to various tax inquires and correspondence from various tax agencies
  • Prepare the Company’s  worldwide fixed asset calculations including CapEx, bonus depreciation, and other industry-specific standards
  • Assist with the preparation of Company’s annual Research & Development Tax Credit study, including corresponding with other functional areas at Company
  • Collaborate on the timely and accurate completion of the financial statements consistent with management philosophy and regulatory requirements pursuant to ASC 740
  • Maintain inventory of tax return positions with respect to FIN 48
  • Assist with research projects and resulting technical memorandum write-ups documenting tax conclusions reached.
  • Continue to develop tax technical skills in the areas of tax compliance, tax accounting and tax research.
  • Assist in review to identify and implement control improvements, create overall tax efficiencies through data automation
  • Assist in developing tax policy which is driven by process and procedures
  • Proactively seeks opportunities to assist with special tax projects, as needed
