NextPath Career Partners is currently seeking a Assistant Project Manager to join our client’s team in Tampa, FL. This is an on-site, direct hire position.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Tech-Savvy – can do all admin work (Procore, ipad, etc) 
  • Hands-on mindset & work ethic – all hands on deck
  • Can work autonomously AND on a team 
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in construction
  • Solid understanding of construction industry, job site safety requirements, planning & scheduling, building trades and sequence of work and relevant technology including software.
  • Key competencies are leadership, initiative, communication, teamwork, managing for results and coaching / mentoring.
  • MUST be able to read and understand construction plans and specifications.
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Excellent communication & leadership skills and abilities.
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Excellent planning and time management skills

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan and oversee projects to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion and within budget.
  • Plan and designate project resources, prepare budgets, monitor progress and keep client PjM’s informed the entire way.
  • Prepare reports for upper management and other staff regarding project status, upcoming projects or potential new clients.
  • Assist project managers, senior project managers, project executives and other direct reports when requested.
  • Provide leadership in initial planning stage by collaborating with clients, architects, engineers or other involved parties
  • Develop detailed description of scope of work, materials, etc. necessary to complete project.
  • Schedule and coordinate projects in logical steps and budgets the time necessary to meet each deadline.
  • Finalize preparation and submission of proposals / SOV’s to Client PjM and regularly communicates with client concerning budget progress and costs.
  • Ensures adherence to budget, project plans, specifications, and all other construction documents and notifies and makes adjustments when and where necessary
  • Ensure safety standards and guidelines are followed on jobsite.
  • Oversee contract negotiations, revisions and additions
  • Prepare contracts with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors and send to appropriate party.
  • Collaborate with Clients, Superintendents, Contractors and design professionals to discuss and resolve problems.
  • Manages and leads action that are necessary due to delays, bad weather or emergencies on project.
  • Develops and maintains good working relationships with variety of stakeholders.
  • Other duties that may be assigned.
