NextPath Career Partners is currently seeking a Construction Project Engineer to join our client’s team in Apopka, FL. This is an on-site, direct hire position.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum skill levels include technical expertise in plan reading, concrete and masonry systems, structural modification, demolition, and carpentry;
  • Ability to communicate and lead subcontractors in execution of their work.
  • Basic knowledge of MEP, Life Safety, refrigeration and commercial kitchens is a must.
  • Theme Park experience is a PLUS.
  • Knowledge or ability to learn building means and methods
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project)
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
  • High school diploma with 1-3 years’ experiences in construction, or a college degree in construction management or engineering
  • Must have or obtain OSHA 10-hour certification and preferred construction training
  • Must have or obtain current First Aid and CPR certification
     

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Review and process properly transmitted contract documents and shop drawings
• Review, organize, maintain and process contract documents and shop drawings
• Verify shop drawings and submittals from subcontractors meet the specifications on the drawings or project specifications – verify with project manager as needed
• Be familiar with and build/maintain a good relationship with the local building and utility authorities
• Set up and maintain job files, both hard copy and electronically
• Assist with Purchase Orders and Subcontract issuance and tracking
• Monitor long lead items needed for compliance with the project schedule
• In the field office maintain and organize the office in a neat and orderly fashion
• Assist in the production of project close-out documents for submittal to the owner
• Assist in the production and tracking of the Punch List completion
• Must be able to fill in for project manager at OAC meetings and run efficiently for client
• Prepare OAC meeting minutes, then distribute to all attendees
• Must be able to write RFI’s without input from supervisor/project manager
• Originate and/or review, submittal log, and distribute RFI’s and Submittals
• Distribute all logs to pertinent parties
• Ability to communicate well via telephone to schedule work and resolve problems
• Must be a creative thinker and possess ability to solve problems
• Must be able to discern when to involve upper management in project issues and bring possible solutions to the discussion of problem resolution
• Manage in such a manner as to promote professionalism and company values when dealing with owners, subcontractors, and subordinates
• Willing to assist subcontractors and material suppliers as needed to complete the scope of work for a successful project
• Theme Park work will require coordination of access, badging, and parking for all vendors during the course of a project and may include night work. Ensure that all subcontractors are able to work when needed
• Able/willing to use mobile technology for collaboration/communication with the entire construction team and in the performance of job duties
• Permit and sub-permit logs verified and distributed to PM, Superintendent, Job File
• Must be up to date with all project issues and status of each issue until resolved. Tracking issues so as not to affect the schedule
• Assist project manager with changes to contract documents and prepare cost scopes and changes for project manager to track. Collect subcontractor pricing for project manager to review.
• Participate in weekly L10 meetings and contribute to LMA
