NextPath Career Partners is currently seeking a Controller  to join our client’s team in Clearwater, FL. This is a onsite, direct hire position.

SALARY: $120-$130K + bonus (depending on experience)

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting 
  • CPA preferred
  • 5+ years of Accounting / Accounting Management experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience, and prefer a minimum of 3 years of experience in public accounting
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP
  • Knowledge of multi-state tax accounting & reporting
  • Understanding of internal control policies and procedures
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures 
  • Experience with financial statement preparation for all types of legal entities 
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for monthly consolidation and preparation of financial statements, including validation and elimination of intercompany activity, accounting for investments, joint ventures and other non-controlling interests
  • Review journal entries and reconciliations relating to intercompany transactions, goodwill and intangible assets, minority interest and joint venture activity
  • Ensure that financial records are maintained in compliance with US GAAP and with internal policies and procedures
  • Assist in the formulation of internal controls and policies to comply with established best practices
  • Benchmark peer companies on accounting practices and to help identify best practices
  • Responsible for the coordination of the external audit of the Company’s financial statements including but not limited to preparing support schedules and managing open/action item lists pertaining to the audit
  • Assist with the preparation and review of quarterly and annual external filings and reporting submissions
  • Review and consolidate accounting information, including preparation and review of consolidated balance sheet and income statement analytics
  • Manage and oversee the monthly financial close process and all aspects of the general ledger
  • Overall management of all accounting operations and ensure personnel are staying on top of required tasks
  • Develop & implement the documentation of company accounting policies
  • Manage all compensation plans, that include bonus and commission calculations
  • Partner with business leaders to identify and evaluate the accounting impacts of proposed transactions
  • Train and evaluates employees to enhance their performance, development, and work product
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects
